The charming Slovenian capital of Ljubljana is the only large city in the country. Dominated by Castle Hill with the medieval Ljubljana Castle on top, the city is a picturesque mix of Balkan architectural styles, romantic bridges and scenic views.

Two days is all you need to see the city.
Two days is all you need to see the city. We spent fifteen nights in Slovenia and just saw the best bits, we could have spent longer. Ljubljana doesn't have as much to offer as other European city's, Rome, Paris or Krakow all have more but it's pleasant enough. Visit the Tivoli Park and watch the red squirrels. Take an apple and they will come and sit on the park bench and enjoy it with you, they are so tame.

Close by is a gigantic shopping centre. Really spacious rooms, fantastic beds and bathroom. There was a tiny, handy kitchen and a nice table which makes this place ideal for work. The location just outside of old town was perfect, on site covered parking was a bonus. We happened to be there on a Friday night so we were able to enjoy Open Kitchen which was quite the scene. Our favorite dinner was at Pri Skofu. Breakfast at the hotel was very good. Slovenia is a beautiful country-wish we had spent one of these nights in the Logar Valley 4 nights in Ljubljana was a lot.
